Responsibilities
- Help clients install and configure the latest z/HW
- Create/update IODF, Work with HCD; Understand differences between ESCON, parallel channels, and FICON channels
- Create new z/OS lPARS
- Perform z/OS Software installations, use z/OSMF, implement best practices
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of overall knowledge and understanding of IBM Z processor design, available I/O adapters, and IBM Z physical planning aspects
- Experience with implementation and usage of z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF)
- System Programmer set of skills (ISPF/SDSF, z/FS Filesystem, Unix System Services, RACF, JES parameters, SYS1.PARMLIB, SYS1.PROCLIB members)
- Deep skills in z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, High Availability, Storage, Performance and Tuning - Operations set of skills (HMC, Commands)
- z/OS SW installations (z/OS releases, other software using z/OSMF)
- Experience with HCD and IODF requirements
- Experience with Data Center migrations
- Experience with Sysplex splits/merges
- Experience with Disaster Recovery methodologies
- Knowledgeable on current z Hardware
