Job Overview:
As a UX Designer at Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), you will focus on creating intuitive, engaging, and seamless experiences for players.
*Whilst this position is being offered on a remote basis, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently located in BC, and ideally within the greater Vancouver area

- Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that communicate the user experience and functionality of our games
- Design and iterate on game mechanics, player flows, and user interfaces
- Conduct user research to understand player’s needs and preferences
- Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights
- Work closely with game developers to ensure the user experience is implemented to a high standard
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business goals and player feedback
- Help establish and maintain design standards for the studio
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging design patterns
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in user experience, graphic design, design, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in UX design for mobile or web applications
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX design skills and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of game development and game design principles
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
It would also be great if you had experience with:
- User research, usability testing, and data analysis but must also be effective when these materials are not available
- A generalist game design background
- Working on casual games
