Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. This role is ideal for a tax professional with 3–5 years of public accounting experience who is comfortable handling both business and individual tax engagements.
The successful candidate will prepare and review tax returns, support tax planning initiatives, communicate directly with clients, and work closely with firm leadership on a variety of tax and advisory projects. Qualified candidates can work fully remote, with a clear opportunity for long-term growth within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and S corporations
- Prepare complex individual income tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals
- Conduct tax research and assist with tax planning and advisory strategies
- Communicate directly with clients by phone, email, and virtual meetings
- Collaborate with partners and senior team members on client engagements
- Ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Assist with consulting projects and specialized tax engagements
- Manage multiple client deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on taxation
- Experience preparing business entity and complex individual tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- CPA license or CPA candidacy preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment
- Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone
- Candidates with less experience should be willing to occasionally travel to the Allentown, PA office for training and collaboration
- Candidates with more extensive experience may be eligible for a fully remote arrangement
