Job Description

About SimpleStudy

SimpleStudy is a consumer AI platform that helps students stay motivated to study — everything from Biology and Mathematics to Literature and Art.

We've helped over 1.5M students worldwide (UK, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, and Australia) study better, and 40–50k new students join us every week. We're a small, remote team with a Lisbon office, and we recently raised a ~$4M seed round with investors from Strava, OpenAI, and Meta.

We're now building the next layer of the product: deeper progress tracking, social/network effects, an AI-native content and localisation engine, and a growing B2B schools business alongside our consumer product.

The Role

This is a newly created role. You'll work directly with the co-founder, effectively as their product right hand — with end-to-end ownership across both our consumer roadmap and our schools (B2B) roadmap.

You'll operate at staff level in a 20-person team — which means high autonomy, direct access to the founders, and real influence over both product direction and how the product function itself is structured, without the layers (or the safety net) of a larger org

.

What you'll own

  • Product strategy and execution across multiple surfaces at once — consumer study tools, social/engagement features, and our schools product — making explicit trade-offs between them

  • Core metrics: engagement, retention, and conversion, including defining how we measure and report on them

  • Day-to-day partnership with engineering and design to scope, prioritise, and ship

  • Roadmap process and structure for the product org as we scale past founder-led prioritisation

  • Representing product thinking clearly to founders, engineers, and other stakeholders across both business lines

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of product experience, including staff-level scope, ideally spanning early-stage to meaningful scale

  • A track record of owning product across multiple lines or surfaces simultaneously — genuinely comfortable moving between consumer and B2B contexts, not just consumer with light B2B exposure

  • Strong quantitative, data-driven decision-making — you can define and defend the metrics that matter, not just report on ones handed to you

  • Experience working closely with engineering and design in a small, high-autonomy team — you scope and ship, you don't just write specs and wait

  • Product sense paired with commercial judgment — able to weigh consumer growth priorities against B2B/schools priorities and make a call

  • Comfort defining process and roadmap structure from scratch in a fast-moving startup — this is a build-the-plane role, not an execute-the-plan role

  • Fluency with tools like Linear, Figma, PostHog, Mixpanel or equivalent

  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll represent product thinking directly to founders and across two distinct business lines

Why this role

  • Direct, regular access to and partnership with the co-founder/CPO — not filtered through layers of management

  • Genuine ownership of undefined territory: you'll shape what "product function" means at SimpleStudy as we scale

  • A company already at meaningful scale (1.5M+ students, ~50k new students/week, ~92% gross margins) with runway from a recent seed round

  • Full remote flexibility within Europe, with an optional hub in Lisbon
