The Transportation Capacity team seeks a results-driven Program Manager to lead capacity planning initiatives across Amazon Mexico's transportation network. This role combines strategic planning, cross-functional execution, and data-driven decision-making to ensure operational efficiency at scale. Design and deliver capacity plans with strategic consistency, addressing complex business challenges while driving automation and process improvement across the planning function. Develop mid-to-long term capacity plans aligned with network strategy and OP2 targets. Drive cross-functional coordination to ensure timely decision-making and execution. Leverage data and analytical tools to deliver actionable insights that improve planning accuracy. Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual processing time. Lead network-wide initiatives with bias for action and measurable outcomes. Navigate ambiguous business contexts to deliver clarity and structured solutions. Design and deliver volume forecasts with strategic consistency, addressing complex business challenges while driving automation and process improvement across the planning function. Develop short-to-mid term volume plans aligned with network strategy and OP2 targets. Drive cross-functional coordination with upstream (Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers) and downstream (Last Mile, OTR) stakeholders to ensure volume signals are timely, accurate, and actionable. Leverage data and analytical tools to deliver actionable insights that improve forecasting accuracy and network throughput. Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual processing time and re-work from input changes. Lead network-wide volume initiatives with bias for action and measurable outcomes. Navigate ambiguous business contexts to deliver clarity and structured solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data and tools to deliver actionable insights that drive improvements in planning accuracy, and has a strong delivery record and experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relish working with large transactional volumes and big data, and enjoy the challenge of highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous, business context. You will work cross-functionally to ensure that decisions are made and actioned, which will ensure our operations have the volume inputs to run as efficiently as possible. Key job responsibilities - Develop and execute short-to-mid term volume forecasts for the MX transportation network, ensuring accurate volume signals across Last Mile (AMZL), Sort Centers, and Line Haul to enable capacity planning without restrictions. - Own weekly and daily volume forecast accuracy by integrating inputs from Fulfillment Centers, upstream network changes, promotional events, seasonality patterns, and historical trends against OP2 targets. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for volume forecast misses, attainment gaps, and plan-vs-actual variances; deliver actionable remediation plans with clear owners and timelines. - Manage volume allocation and distribution across delivery stations, sort codes, and service types, ensuring optimal network balance and preventing capacity mismatches between planned and actual volumes. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Labor Planning, Operations, OTR Planning, Network Design, Line Haul Planning, and Fulfillment Centers to align volume inputs with downstream capacity requirements across UTR, Middle Mile, and Last Mile. - Generate and deliver weekly Flash reports with volume performance summaries, forecast accuracy metrics, RCA, and action plans for leadership review (Sr Leaders audience). - Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual forecasting time, minimize re-work from upstream input changes, and increase planning automation through tool development and system integration. - Manage volume trade-off decisions by quantifying the impact of volume allocation changes on downstream capacity, ensuring volume signals enable cost-optimal network execution. - Own the volume bridge between upstream supply signals and downstream capacity plans, serving as the single source of truth for volume inputs consumed by Labor Planning, OTR Planning, and Line Haul Planning teams.
Basic Qualifications
  • - Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of program or project management experience - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership - Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.) - Knowledge of general AI tools - Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
