  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Legal Counsel based in United States. This is a high-impact senior legal role supporting a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare organization operating in a highly regulated and rapidly evolving environment. You will act as a key legal advisor across employment, privacy, and security matters, helping translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams. The role sits at the intersection of legal strategy and day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance while enabling business agility. You will partner closely with HR, IT, Security, and other stakeholders to support a distributed, remote-first workforce. This position requires both strong legal judgment and a practical, business-oriented mindset. You will help build foundational legal and compliance processes that scale with organizational growth.   • Accountabilities: Serve as a primary legal advisor to HR, IT, Security, and cross-functional stakeholders on employment, privacy, and security-related matters in a fast-paced, distributed environment. Provide strategic and practical counsel on a wide range of employment law issues, including worker classification, workplace policies, wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, and employee relations matters. Advise on healthcare privacy and security compliance, including HIPAA, state privacy laws, breach response, and related regulatory obligations. Review, draft, and negotiate key agreements such as Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), Data Use Agreements, and other privacy and security-related contracts. Support compliance with evolving state and federal AI, privacy, and employment regulations, including issues related to automated decision-making and workplace monitoring. Partner with internal teams to build and scale compliant operational processes aligned with legal and regulatory requirements. Contribute to incident response and risk mitigation strategies, particularly in data privacy and security breach scenarios. Help shape and improve internal policies, training, and frameworks to ensure consistent legal compliance across the organization. Requirements: 7+ years of progressive legal experience as a practicing attorney, with strong exposure to both in-house and/or law firm environments. 5+ years of employment law experience advising on multi-state compliance, including workplace policies, employee relations, wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, leave laws (FMLA), ADA accommodations, and related matters. 5+ years of healthcare privacy and security law experience, including HIPAA, state privacy laws, data breach response, and vendor contract review (BAAs, DUAs, security agreements). Strong understanding of privacy, security, and AI-related regulatory frameworks, including state AI laws impacting employment and data usage. Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, business-friendly guidance. Experience working in high-growth, technology-driven, healthcare, or digital health environments is strongly preferred. Familiarity with remote, multi-state workforce compliance and platform-based or gig-economy models is a plus. Strong judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
