The Sr Environmental Coordinator (EC) will be responsible for supporting environmental compliance at DMT2, DMT3, DMT4, DMT6 and DCO2 Amazon Delivery Stations in State of Nuevo León and Coahuila. The EC will assist in implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance and provide guidance for operations, maintenance and construction teams. The individual will complete environmental inspections and performance analysis, monitor metrics, and assist teams in implementation of Amazon environmental standards. The EC will work with internal and external partners that include government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders. This is a hands-on position that includes time spent in the yard and on the floor of a delivery station center conducting inspections and audits; taking samples; providing guidance to other employees; ensuring proper waste classification; and dealing with multiple departments and all levels of employees throughout the operation. Key job responsibilities Waste Management -Ensure the Waste and Donations Module (WADM Module) is properly followed up. -Ensure development of Hazardous Waste Cage and Product Awaiting Determination Area Inspections. -Ensure the annual external Hazardous Waste Management Training for Waste Coordinators, Environmental Champions, and Shared Waste Coordinators. -Ensure regulated Waste Training Records are properly followed up. -Ensure logbooks of hazardous and non-hazardous waste records are registered and maintained. -Ensure hazardous waste cages are placed according to environmental legal requirements. -When required, occasionally process and handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste containers that may weigh up to a maximum of 20 kg. Ops Engagement -Daily Dive Deep meetings / Environmental Dashboard attendance. -Conduct daily Environmental Dashboard and key environmental metrics reviews. -Weekly Area Operations follow up. -Mx Newsletter Engagement and monthly topics development. -Partner with Procurement, Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) and Transportation Operations Management (TOM) departments regarding waste management and spill response. -Provide environmental office hours if needed. Environmental Inspections -Ensure development of Stormwater Inspections. -Trailer Yard Spill Kit Materials Audit. -Annual Policy Standard Operating Procedures reviews. -Ensure development of Hazardous Waste, Non-Hazardous Waste and Green Army Inspections. -Ensure development of Spill Kits, environmental critical devices and power generator inspections. -Review and ensure proper function, regulatory categorization, and active permits for environmental equipment (e.g., cardboard compressors, water treatment systems, among others). Environmental Compliance -Ensure Annual Reports are submitted on time. -RETC Annual Chemical Reporting where applicable. -Environmental Permits Recordkeeping; ensure permits renewal (Federal, State and Municipal). -Follow up to environmental annual fees for permits as needed. Basic Qualifications
- - High school diploma - Work a rotating, flexible schedule, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays. Able to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required - Experience engaging with regulatory agencies in permit applications or equivalent - Expertise serving as an environmental technical resource or environmental specialist - Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal environmental regulations (SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, CONAGUA) - 2–3 years of experience in environmental compliance, waste management, or related environmental roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- - Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English - Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics - Broad knowledge of Mexican federal and local environmental regulations (NOM, NMX, LGEEPA, LGPGIR) - Experience profiling and managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste (CRETIB classification) - Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) - 3+ years of experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws.
