Job Description and Responsibilities
This is a part-time, Virtual role as a School Social Worker serving a school located in New Mexico.
The School Social Worker (SW) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents), supporting students according to their IEP. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.
Job Details
- Must have current New Mexico License
- Part Time, 1-2 hours/week
- April – May (25/26) School Year, potential to extend to (26/27)
- 1-2 students
- Job Duties: evaluations, consultation, eligibility and diagnostics, student services
- Guaranteed Hours, including documentation, administrative and planning time
- Virtual
- Dual support from the District and TheraPeds
- Manageable caseloads
- $65-$70/hour
Qualifications
- New Mexico Social Work License
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) (LSW) or LCSW) from an accredited program
- Completion of 900 hours of supervised practicum/fieldwork in social work settings
- Experience working with children or school-aged students preferred
- Knowledge of IEPs, special education law, and behavior intervention planning
- 2+ years of experience (preferred but not required)
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
Physical Requirements
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
