  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SMSF Accountant based in India. This role offers the opportunity to support a growing financial services business by delivering high-quality accounting solutions for self-managed super funds. You will work closely with experienced finance professionals to prepare accurate financial statements, tax returns, and client documentation. The position combines technical SMSF expertise, customer support, and process ownership within a fast-moving environment. You will play an important role in helping clients manage their investments while ensuring compliance and accuracy across accounting activities. The role provides exposure to complex financial transactions, investment structures, and modern accounting platforms.   • Accountabilities: As an SMSF Accountant, you will manage the preparation and review of SMSF accounting deliverables while supporting a growing customer base. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of financial processes while collaborating with internal teams to provide a high-quality client experience. Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns for a portfolio of self-managed super fund clients. Process accounting transactions including bank reconciliations, term deposits, investment reconciliations, managed funds, shares, and member balances. Handle contribution allocations, pension payments, rollovers, and benefit payment processing. Prepare and review workpapers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with requirements. Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues, data discrepancies, and accounting exceptions. Process corporate actions including dividends, dividend reinvestment plans, capital returns, mergers, demergers, and share restructures. Manage complex SMSF transactions such as limited recourse borrowing arrangements, cryptocurrency investments, foreign investments, derivatives, and property investments where applicable. Maintain accurate workflow records and detailed file notes throughout the preparation process. Support onboarding activities for new SMSF clients and ensure smooth account setup. Collaborate with customer success teams and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and deliver excellent client outcomes. Continuously improve accounting processes and contribute to team efficiency. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced SMSF accounting professional with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage client-focused accounting responsibilities. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment. 3 to 5 years of experience in SMSF administration or related accounting roles. Strong understanding of SMSF accounting processes, compliance requirements, and investment transactions. Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation for SMSF clients. Experience using Class accounting software or similar SMSF administration platforms. Experience processing investment reconciliations, member balances, and complex financial transactions. Ability to analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies with strong problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain organized workflows. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
