We're currently looking for a clinically-informed professional to join the Mood & Anxiety (M&A)
Program as a Skills Mentor. Reporting to the clinical lead of the M&A Program, the Skills Mentor is
a full-time, fully remote role responsible for guiding members through the M&A program by
providing DBT skills training and support for enrolled members. In this role, you will focus on
psychoeducation, accountability, habit formation, and skills development.
What you’ll do:
● Support member engagement within a modified-Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Program.
○ Facilitate acquisition of DBT skills and principles.
○ Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) strategies to foster engagement, address
ambivalence, and problem-solve logistical barriers to participation (e.g.,
scheduling, motivation).
○ Review member progress and skills development to provide personalized support
and feedback.
● Communicate regularly with the member’s care team regarding progress or concerns,
ensuring a cohesive care team approach.
● Identify risk concerns during calls and execute warm handoffs to clinical leads or SCNs for
high-risk situations.
● Document information, maintain accurate records, perform follow-ups, and track progress
within several systems – including an EHR – within required timeframes.
● Interact with internal teams such as care support, provider operations, and benefits/billing
to ensure a smooth member experience.
● Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and trainings.
● Follow Spring Health policies and maintain all confidentiality, compliance, and ethical
standards.
What success looks like:
● High Engagement: Members consistently attend scheduled coaching calls, actively
engage with skills content, and complete the program.
● Caseload Management: Effectively managing a caseload while balancing coaching calls
with administrative preparation and documentation.
● Timely Documentation: All member interactions and progress notes are documented
accurately and within required timeframes.
● Member Satisfaction: High reported satisfaction from members regarding the support
received in habit formation and skill building.
What you’ll bring:
● Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred,
though this role does not require an active clinical license
● Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a direct patient-facing role within a behavioral health
setting (i.e., case manager, skills trainer, group facilitator)
● Some knowledge, training, and/or experience with DBT
● Experience using MI to help members find their own reasons for change and build
momentum
● Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
● Experience working with diverse populations
● Motivated to go above and beyond for members to provide a high-touch experience.
● Tech-savvy: must be comfortable using various computer platforms and learning new
systems, and efficient in tech-related tasks
● Able to multi-task and context switch
Bonus qualifications
● Previous work in a telehealth, startup, or digital health environment
● Lived experience of the mental healthcare system (either personally or supporting a loved
one)
● Previous experience working with individuals with mood and anxiety disorders
The target base salary range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00 Hourly, and is part of a
competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary
from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location,
internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and
compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to
ensure competitive and fair pay.
