  • This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Reputation in United States. This role sits at the heart of a global two-sided marketplace where trust and transparency are essential to every interaction between users. You will help design and evolve the core systems that power user reputation, including reviews, host recognition programs, and trust and safety enforcement mechanisms. The work spans building scalable backend systems that collect, process, and serve reputation data used across the platform. You will contribute to shaping a next-generation review and reputation infrastructure that extends beyond traditional marketplace boundaries. This is a highly cross-functional engineering role involving collaboration with product, legal, data, and platform teams. You will operate across multiple layers of the stack, influencing both architectural decisions and product outcomes. The environment is fast-evolving, impact-driven, and focused on building foundational systems that define platform trust.
  • Accountabilities: Design, build, and evolve backend systems that power reviews, reputation signals, and trust-related platform features. Define technical architecture and contribute to long-term strategy for scalable, modular reputation infrastructure. Develop reliable, high-performance services and data systems that support review flows, enforcement mechanisms, and user insights. Collaborate with product, legal, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Establish engineering best practices, reusable frameworks, and “paved paths” within the reputation and trust domain. Influence technical direction across teams, ensuring alignment on system design, scalability, and roadmap priorities. Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the overall technical bar within the organization. Requirements: 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical domains, with strong backend development expertise. Proven experience designing and owning architecture for large-scale, distributed production systems. Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Ruby. Experience with service-oriented or microservices architectures and scalable backend systems. Familiarity with relational databases, NoSQL systems, caching layers, and distributed data storage solutions. Experience influencing technical direction across teams and mentoring other engineers. Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with modern development workflows and AI-assisted or agentic coding tools is a plus. Exposure to trust, safety, reviews, or metrics-heavy domains is advantageous. Benefits: Competitive base salary ranging from $196,000 to $227,000 USD depending on experience and location.
