• Accountabilities: The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining backend systems that support large-scale payment processing operations. The role requires strong technical ownership, problem-solving capabilities, and collaboration across multiple teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions. Design and develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, and cloud-based functions supporting payment processing and transaction management systems. Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to maintain platform stability. Identify performance bottlenecks, improve system resilience, and reduce operational incidents through proactive engineering practices. Collaborate with product teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve integration challenges and optimize transaction flows. Contribute to new feature development, platform enhancements, and modernization initiatives. Identify and address technical debt while ensuring maintainable, secure, and scalable architecture. Promote best practices across software development, testing, code reviews, and deployment processes. Support continuous improvement through Agile methodologies, engineering excellence, and effective technical communication. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong expertise in cloud technologies, distributed systems, and software design. You should be comfortable working on business-critical platforms, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Strong backend development experience with Java (Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Maven) and Python. Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SSM Parameter Store, and Secrets Manager. Experience designing, developing, and operating distributed systems and microservices in production environments. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Docker, AWS CDK, and monitoring tools. Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and computational complexity. Proven ability to debug and resolve complex, time-sensitive production issues. Experience working with Agile development practices and continuous improvement processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with digital payments, POS integrations, retail technology, or other transaction-based systems is preferred. Familiarity with observability platforms such as Grafana, CloudWatch, or Application Insights is a plus.
