Description
- Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction. If you’re passionate about safety and performance and have an interest in robotics systems, then we’d like to talk to you about becoming part of an organization with global impact on millions of customers. Key job responsibilities - Learn and master multiple components including networking/Wi-Fi, safety systems, and a variety of sensors. - Lead the architecture of these complex systems and break down problems to support more junior coworkers in contributing effectively. Explain our progress and present simplified explanations of technical issues to project managers and other non-technical leaders. - Work on the edge of the technological frontier, develop novel solutions, and take measured risks when necessary. A day in the life As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and debug complex modern robotic systems. The development process will involve participating in design discussions, brainstorming novel approaches to the hardest problems in robotics, and implementing new product concepts and features. Testing efforts will involve writing automated tests to validate newly created features or conducting live testing to debug and root cause issues.
Basic Qualifications
- - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 4+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field - 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with some aspect of robotic systems. This must include direct, hands-on experience designing, developing, and debugging one of the following: consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications product. - Deep understanding of Hardware –In-the-Loop methodology, experience with Matlab, and Simulink Real Time.
