Senior Mobile Engineer (Android)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking experienced, passionate, and resourceful Senior Android Engineers to join our Early Bets team. As a mobile engineer at EarnIn, you will play a crucial role in developing and refining our customer-facing Android applications, helping shape the customer’s impression of our company. We are seeking engineers who thrive in uncertain environments—excited about collaborating with Product teams to define requirements in ambiguous settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in fintech or a background in building 0-to-1 products, with a strong ability to create flexible engineering architectures that support future product expansion. If you have worked on early-stage products engineered for scalability or in Research & Development for new technologies, you will feel at home on our team.

This position will ideally be hybrid from our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site, though a remote arrangement may be possible. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop and implement product features that enhance the customer experience.
• Architect and refine mobile infrastructure to enable scalability and support the rapid development of new products.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to design robust APIs that facilitate seamless communication between mobile devices and servers.
• Partner with Product teams to define requirements in ambiguous environments, ensuring engineering flexibility for future expansion.
• Lead and enforce engineering best practices to maintain high code quality and system reliability.
• Drive projects proactively, offering strategic direction and problem-solving to navigate uncertainty.
• Mentor the mobile engineering team, elevating skills and optimizing processes for efficiency.
• Design and execute unit and UI automation tests to ensure new features integrate smoothly without disrupting existing functionalities.
• Analyze feature effectiveness using advanced analytics to drive data-informed improvements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, with expertise in reactive and functional programming paradigms.
• Deep understanding of Android application architectures (MVVM, MVC, MVP, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to engineer flexible architectures that allow for product evolution.
• Extensive knowledge of professional software engineering practices, covering the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• 4+ years of relevant Engineering industry experience, with a strong focus on mobile development.
• Familiarity with iOS development and cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Kotlin Multi-Platform is a significant plus.
