Job Description
  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance based in the United States. This is a high-impact strategic finance role supporting senior leadership at a pivotal stage of business growth. You’ll combine rigorous financial analysis, market intelligence, and business judgment to inform some of the organization’s most consequential decisions. The role will shape long-range financial planning, pricing strategy, capital allocation, market expansion, and investment opportunities. You’ll build sophisticated models and scenario analyses that turn complex business dynamics into clear, actionable recommendations. As a trusted advisor to executives, you’ll connect financial outcomes with operational realities and challenge assumptions when needed. The position offers significant visibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to help evolve a strategic finance function in a fast-moving technology environment. You’ll work across Finance and the broader business, balancing analytical depth with concise executive communication and practical execution.
  • Accountabilities: Lead market and valuation analysis: Own TAM assessments, valuation work, market research, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions. Shape pricing strategy: Analyze existing pricing and packaging models, monitor market trends including AI and consumption-based pricing, and develop insights across products, customer segments, geographies, and public- and private-sector markets. Own the long-range financial model: Enhance and maintain a dynamic financial model that captures key business and industry drivers, enables rapid evaluation of strategic decisions, and incorporates sensitivity analysis around relevant macroeconomic and industry factors. Scale financial planning capabilities: Help integrate and expand the long-range model within the organization's planning infrastructure and processes. Drive capital allocation analysis: Build sophisticated financial models and scenario analyses supporting major decisions such as M&A, partnerships, investments, and entry into new markets. Translate analysis into executive recommendations: Synthesize complex scenarios into concise, compelling narratives that clearly communicate opportunities, risks, trade-offs, and recommended actions to senior leadership. Evaluate investment performance: Track post-investment outcomes against original underwriting assumptions, identify variances and lessons learned, and feed those insights back into future planning and decision-making. Advise senior leadership: Serve as a trusted thought partner on high-stakes strategic questions, helping leadership understand the long-term implications of near-term decisions. Connect strategy with operations: Assess the operational feasibility of strategic recommendations and partner with business teams to support implementation and translate decisions into measurable outcomes. Help build the strategic finance function: Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to defining processes, analytical frameworks, and capabilities that allow the function to scale with the organization. Requirements: 6–9 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, FP&A, strategic finance, or another highly analytical environment. Exceptional financial modeling skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets in Excel and Google Sheets. Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial and business topics into concise presentations and recommendations for C-level audiences. Investor mindset and strategic judgment: Ability to synthesize complex business dynamics into clear investment theses, identify risks, and develop risk-adjusted recommendations. Strong business intuition: Ability to connect financial performance to operational drivers and explain the underlying story behind the numbers. Comfort with ambiguity: Able to make sound, high-quality decisions despite incomplete information and evolving business conditions. Entrepreneurial and builder mindset: Motivated to define and develop a strategic finance function rather than simply execute established processes. Cross-functional collaboration skills: Comfortable partnering with Finance, executives, and operational teams to translate strategic analysis into practical action. Technology-sector experience preferred: Background in SaaS, data, or technology businesses is advantageous. Blockchain, crypto, or Web3 familiarity is a strong plus, though not required. AI fluency and curiosity: Willingness to adopt emerging AI-enabled workflows, experiment with new tools, and take ownership of the quality and outcomes of AI-assisted work. Benefits: Competitive base salary: Tier 1: $142,000–$237,000 USD Tier 2: $124,000–$207,000 USD Equity compensation as part of the overall rewards package. Performance-based bonus opportunity. Remote-first work environment with eligible locations across New York, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. High-impact, highly visible role with direct exposure to senior and executive leadership. Opportunity to influence major strategic decisions spanning pricing, investments, capital allocation, market expansion, and long-range planning. Exposure to AI-enabled ways of working, with an emphasis on experimentation, innovation, and improving how work gets done. Inclusive and collaborative culture that values diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. Accessibility support and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process where needed.
