Job Description


Sperasoft is looking for experienced Senior Landscape artist to join AAA+ project. If you have a passion for biomes, terrain sculpting, material creation, and want to be part of a collaborative team pushing quality to the next level - we would like to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Create landscapes using UE5’s sculpting, painting, foliage, spline tools and external DCC such as Gaea or World Machine
  • Design and implement biomes, including rocks, decals, roads, embankments, and other natural elements
  • Build and manage landscape materials within Unreal shader system
  • Develop high-quality materials in Quixel Mixer or Substance Designer
  • Use procedural tools like PCG or Houdini to place grass, trees, rocks, and other natural assets in a fast and efficient way
  • Ensure performance-friendly, visually compelling landscapes aligned with art direction
  • Collaborate with design, lighting, and technical teams to maintain quality and consistency
  • Obtain Lead Artists guidance and approval as required to advance tasks
  • Continue to refine artistic abilities and learn new software packages and/or in-house tools
  • Coordinate with Senior and/or Lead Artists with mentoring Junior 3D Artists as well as sharing best project practices with them
  • Contribute to the team-oriented environment

  • Knowledge of UE 5 and Perforce
  • Knowledge of 3D software (Blender/Maya/3Ds Max)
  • Terrain Generation software knowledge (Gaea/World Machine
  • Unreal Engine Landscape system & Material Graph knowledge
  • Understanding biome assets creation (i.e. embankment, road modules, rocks, landscape patches, decals, small set dressing assets etc)
  • Material creation in Quixel Mixer and Substance Designer will be a big plus, as well as knowledge of Houdini plugin for Unreal Engine
