Summary
The contract role of the Senior Full Stack Java Developer is to design and build scalable, high-performing enterprise applications with a strong focus on backend services and cloud-native architecture. This individual will work across modern Java frameworks, APIs, and distributed systems, contributing to both platform development and integration efforts. The position offers exposure to end-to-end delivery, including design, deployment, and optimization in a cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade applications with a primary focus on backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
- Develop and maintain APIs to support integration across internal platforms and external systems
- Build scalable and resilient services aligned with modern application design principles and cloud-native standards
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support light frontend development and ensure seamless end-to-end functionality
- Support application deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring within cloud environments, with a preference for AWS
- Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve system performance and reliability
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in Java-based enterprise solutions
- Deep experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based design
- Familiarity with modern application design approaches (e.g., scalable, distributed systems)
- Hands-on experience working within cloud environments, ideally AWS
- Strong understanding of API development, including RESTful services and integration patterns
- Exposure to frontend technologies and ability to collaborate across full-stack teams
Work Model
- This contract role is a Hybrid schedule with an alternating cadence: one week onsite (Monday–Friday), followed by one week remote in the NJ or MA office.
- To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE. Candidates residing outside these states are not eligible for consideration currently.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa currently.
