This role is a senior-level software engineering position focused on building and maintaining enterprise-grade web applications supporting critical government systems. You will join an agile development team responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design to deployment and maintenance. The environment is highly collaborative and mission-driven, involving complex systems that demand scalability, security, and high performance. You will work closely with architects, business stakeholders, and other engineers to design robust solutions aligned with federal standards. The position offers exposure to modern Java-based architectures, CI/CD practices, and cloud-ready development approaches. • Accountabilities: In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of secure and scalable enterprise applications while participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an agile environment. Participate in agile development teams delivering end-to-end software solutions including design, development, testing, and deployment Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications using enterprise frameworks and best practices Build and maintain RESTful web services and integrate backend systems using Java, Spring, and related technologies Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and system designs Ensure software performance, scalability, security, and maintainability across all deliverables Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps-driven delivery practices Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement of SDLC processes Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced Java engineer with strong backend development expertise, proven experience in enterprise environments, and a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices. 7+ years of experience in enterprise software development using Java/J2EE technologies Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful web services Experience with JSP/Servlets or JavaServer Faces (JSF) in web-based applications Solid knowledge of Linux environments (Red Hat preferred) Experience with SQL, data modeling, and ORM tools such as Hibernate or JPA Hands-on experience working in Agile development environments Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated deployment workflows Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) Benefits: Competitive salary range ($111,155 – $150,385 based on experience and location) Remote work flexibility with full telecommuting options Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions Generous paid time off, holidays, and family leave programs Disability, life, and additional insurance coverage options Structured career development in a large-scale, mission-driven technology environment Exposure to modern engineering practices including DevOps, cloud, and secure software development.
