About the Role

As a support engineer you are working closely with customers on issue and problem resolution, issue de-escalation guidance and ticket management and metrics review. This includes root cause analysis, defining proactive measures for avoiding issue recurrence, managing known error databases and quality assurance for identifying error patterns.

You will be diligent about ensuring best practice, and pragmatic about ensuring that our customer ‘s success is maintained. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. You will regularly exercise discretionary decision-making to shape this role as you see fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supported overall system stability and performance by identifying, analyzing, and resolving functional issues.
  • Assisted in diagnosing and resolving ABAP-related issues by analyzing system logs and performing basic debugging under senior guidance.
  • Monitored system operations, including batch jobs and payment processes, and proactively addressed production issues.
  • Participated in incident management, including timely escalation of critical system issues.
  • Collaborated with support teams, developers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Maintained comprehensive documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system procedures, enabling effective knowledge sharing.
  • Executed test cases to validate system enhancements, fixes, and deployments.
  • Conducted functional testing of core banking applications and documented defects.
  • Logged, tracked, and managed defects using Jira, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Prepared deployment run sheets and ensured smooth release execution.
  • Supported system integration efforts and assisted in validating new technical solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in providing application and functional support in SAP or core banking environments.
  • Understanding of system enhancements, deployments, and release cycles.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and support issue resolution in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g., Jira) and incident tracking processes.
  • Knowledge of system integration concepts and business process flows (loans, deposits, payments, etc.).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Flexible and open to working shifts when required.

 

Skills Required:

  • SAP functional support knowledge (Banking / Financial modules preferred)
  • Basic ABAP debugging and log analysis
  • Defect tracking and incident management (Jira or similar tools)
  • Functional testing and UAT support
  • Understanding of core banking processes (Loans, Payments, Deposits, Insurance)
  • System monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Documentation and reporting skills
  • Collaboration and stakeholder communication
