Robotics Engineer (Contractor)
Maneva • Toronto, Canada
Posted: April 20, 2026
Job Description
Maneva is pioneering vision-to-action AI solutions for manufacturers, leveraging camera and production data to optimize factory-floor operations. As a Robotics Engineer (Contractor), you will play a critical role in integrating advanced robotics hardware and software, ensuring seamless data collection and real-world deployment of AI-driven policies. You will collaborate closely with a deployment engineer and contribute to the development and optimization of robotic systems that drive uptime, quality, safety, and throughput for industrial clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Integrating and tuning robotics hardware SDKs (Flexiv RDK in Python/C++, PIKA SDK), including impedance control, safety limits, teleoperation pipeline setup, and coordinate frame calibration.
- Performing camera calibration and multi-camera synchronization across wrist cameras and external RealSense units, diagnosing timing/sync drift and frame alignment issues.
- Building and maintaining robust data collection pipelines for recording, storage, dataset formatting (LeRobot-compatible), and versioning to support reliable training runs.
- Running ACT and Diffusion Policy training jobs and evaluation infrastructure, ensuring reliable policy evaluation and deployment.
- Deploying learned policies on-robot, optimizing latency, and debugging sim/replay versus real-world performance gaps.
- Writing ROS2 nodes when beneficial, maintaining a lean and efficient robotics stack.
This contract position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on Maneva's industrial AI adoption, working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment with world-class engineers and AI experts.
