About the Role
The HR Director serves as a strategic partner to the Veeam Sales organization and provides expert guidance on all aspects of our People Strategy. This role aligns HR strategies with business objectives, drives talent management initiatives, and fosters a positive organizational culture—collaborating with stakeholders across the sales organization to ensure effective implementation of HR programs and practices.
The HR Director will collaborate with Sales executives and key stakeholders to provide direction on all aspects of the people strategy - aligning HR priorities with business objectives, driving talent and performance outcomes, and fostering a strong, inclusive culture. They will advise on the effective design and execution of HR programs and practices as well as lead cross-functional talent initiatives across Sales.
The ideal candidate brings experience in a global, fast-paced, evolving technical environment and can scale impact through the broader HR function. Experience supporting a growing, sales-driven organization is essential, including deep understanding of sales compensation plans, performance metrics, and sales-related strategy. This role requires a proven ability to lead through change and transformation, build high-performing sales teams, develop effective people and organizational strategies, and align People & Culture priorities with business needs. The ability to partner effectively at all levels of a global sales organization is critical. Travel requirement is approximately 20%
What You’ll Do
- Strategic HR Partnership: Partner with Sales leaders as a trusted advisor, delivering people strategies and insight that enable business goals and organizational effectiveness.
- Talent Management: Own hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning—identifying critical roles, developing high-potential talent, and program-managing workforce/org design initiatives.
- Organizational Development: Lead change initiatives that improve agility and effectiveness, and build a culture of continuous improvement through engagement and development.
- Employee Relations & Performance: Partner with Employee Relations on complex cases and compliance, and coach managers on goal setting, performance management, and feedback.
- Training & Development: Assess capability gaps and coach leaders to build development plans that drive growth and readiness.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics to identify workforce trends and risks, delivering executive-ready reporting and recommendations.
- DEI & Collaboration: Champion DEI across hiring and development, and partner with People & Culture Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable, cohesive programs.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership in a global, high-growth, sales-driven or technical environment, ideally with senior HRBP experience advising executive leaders; Latin America/Canada exposure a plus.
- Talent Programs: Proven success building talent initiatives—leadership development, succession planning, capability building—within matrixed organizations, influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- HR & Systems Expertise: Strong grounding in HR strategy, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, sales-related HR practices, and change leadership; experience with Workday preferred.
- Strategic & Program Leadership: Strategic thinker who connects people strategy to business priorities, with a program leader's ability to build structure and scalable frameworks for complex initiatives.
- Communication & Relationship Skills: Strong executive communication and emotional intelligence, building credibility and alignment with senior leadership.
- Agility, Analytics & Inclusion: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-paced change, with strong analytical skills and a deep commitment to inclusive, equitable leadership.
