Support payroll reconciliations while maintaining organized documentation for audits and compliance reviews. Partner with Human Resources to process new hires, terminations, compensation changes, employee record updates, and required approvals. Assist with processing approved bonuses, commissions, overtime, and other variable compensation components. Support payroll tax administration by maintaining tax account records, monitoring registration updates, reviewing agency notices, and coordinating with payroll providers when necessary. Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, taxes, direct deposits, time reporting, and payroll system access. Research and resolve payroll-related issues, escalating more complex matters to appropriate stakeholders when needed. Assist with quarterly, year-end, and compliance-related payroll activities, including documentation preparation and data validation. Maintain payroll procedures, checklists, and documentation to support consistency, compliance, and audit readiness. Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance payroll accuracy, operational efficiency, and the overall employee experience. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and service-focused professional with foundational payroll, finance, or HR experience who is eager to develop expertise in payroll operations and compliance. 1–3 years of experience in payroll, finance, accounting, HR operations, or a related administrative role. High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work confidently with spreadsheets and payroll data. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling payroll information. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee data with discretion. Comfortable working within structured processes while identifying issues and escalating them appropriately. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Willingness to learn payroll systems, compliance requirements, payroll tax processes, and audit documentation practices. Experience with payroll or HCM platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Ceridian, or similar systems is an advantage. Analytical mindset with an interest in investigating payroll discrepancies and improving payroll processes. Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with recurring deadlines. Benefits: Competitive hourly pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour (approximately $45,760–$49,920 annually). Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off. Fully remote work opportunity within the United States. Professional development and hands-on experience in payroll operations and compliance. Opportunity to collaborate across Payroll, Finance, Human Resources, and external partners. Exposure to payroll systems, tax administration, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Supportive, collaborative environment focused on learning and career growth.
