Job Description
  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Operations Analyst based in the United States. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing operations team where data directly supports high-stakes, real-world decisions. You’ll provide dedicated analytics support to a rapidly scaling operations function and help turn complex data into reliable operational intelligence. The role combines hands-on SQL, BI infrastructure, forecasting, and statistical analysis with a deep understanding of how teams work in practice. You’ll build dashboards, self-service tools, and reporting systems that guide both frontline teams and leadership. Your analysis will help improve vendor performance, data quality, staffing, and operational readiness during periods of peak demand. You’ll work closely with central data teams and operational stakeholders in a collaborative, high-ownership environment. The position is ideal for a technically strong, curious analyst who enjoys solving ambiguous problems and creating durable solutions.
  • Accountabilities Own and maintain production-grade SQL queries, dashboards, and self-service tools in platforms such as Metabase or Looker, ensuring teams have reliable visibility into operational KPIs. Analyze performance across vendors, agents, time periods, and operational workflows to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Investigate anomalies and data-quality issues using rigorous, hypothesis-driven analysis, escalating well-defined fixes to central data teams when underlying models or warehouse tables need to change. Establish and maintain consistent metric definitions, proactively identifying misleading or broken reporting before it reaches operational or executive decision-makers. Develop staffing forecasts using historical incident volumes, seasonality, throughput, and relevant external datasets such as wildfire activity, weather, and seasonal trends. Analyze headcount and coverage against operational demand and support scenario planning for peak periods. Work closely with frontline operations teams to understand how cases are actually handled and incorporate real-world workflow context into analytics, tooling, and recommendations. Document analytical findings clearly and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Travel to international vendor locations when required to observe operations firsthand and use those insights to improve analysis and operational tools. Requirements Demonstrated technical proficiency in SQL, with experience building and maintaining production-grade BI infrastructure using tools such as Metabase or Looker. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a curious and skeptical approach to data and a commitment to understanding what metrics truly represent before using them for decisions. Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis; hands-on experience with time-series analysis, predictive modeling, or operational forecasting is highly valued. Experience identifying, evaluating, and incorporating relevant third-party datasets to strengthen internal analysis and operational forecasting. Ability to immerse yourself in operational workflows and combine quantitative analysis with an understanding of how people and processes function in practice. Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with centralized analytics or data teams through clearly scoped, prioritized requests. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations for diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity in environments where reporting accuracy directly affects operational performance. Adaptability and resilience when working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and complex operational challenges. Benefits Competitive base salary: $117,000–$140,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, knowledge, and geographic location. Equity: Eligibility for equity as part of the overall compensation package. Remote work: US-based remote position offering flexibility within a distributed working environment. Health coverage: Benefits may include health insurance or other healthcare coverage, depending on local market standards and applicable requirements. Retirement benefits: Retirement or pension contributions may be available depending on location and applicable requirements. Paid time off: PTO and other leave benefits tailored to local market standards and statutory requirements. International exposure: Opportunities to travel to vendor sites and gain firsthand insight into global operations. High-impact work: Contribute to technology and operational systems designed to improve wildfire detection, response, and community resilience.
