• This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a MST CAN Expert based in the United States. This is a remote, mission-driven opportunity supporting the implementation of Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) across programs in the U.S. and internationally. You will provide expert consultation, training, and implementation support to clinical teams serving vulnerable children and families. The role combines clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, professional education, and quality improvement. You’ll work closely with therapists, supervisors, administrators, and system stakeholders to strengthen treatment fidelity and outcomes. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to advanced trainings, workshops, peer groups, and professional learning initiatives. With significant autonomy and 35–50% travel, this role is well suited to an experienced clinician who enjoys teaching, collaboration, and making a measurable community impact.
• Accountabilities: Provide weekly consultation and ongoing clinical guidance to MST-CAN or MST-BSF teams, helping clinicians maintain strong adherence to the treatment model. Train and support supervisors and therapists through targeted development plans, implementation guidance, and practical feedback designed to strengthen clinical practice. Lead portions of MST-CAN Orientation, MST-CAN Trauma Training, Supervisor Orientation, and other professional learning sessions. Identify emerging training needs and coordinate quarterly booster trainings, including content preparation, scheduling, communication, and facilitation. Support program launches, quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement activities, including strengths and needs assessments and Program Implementation Reviews. Provide expertise on research-supported interventions and treatment approaches, including trauma-focused treatment, TF-CBT, Prolonged Exposure, reinforcement-based treatment, contingency management, and substance-use interventions. Review treatment protocols and provide constructive feedback to strengthen implementation quality and clinical effectiveness. Partner closely with clinical implementation leadership on quality assurance, professional development, and program performance. Participate in booster trainings, peer and workgroups, conference workshops, and other initiatives that advance evidence-based practice and professional learning. Build trusted relationships with clinicians, supervisors, administrators, and broader system stakeholders across diverse programs and geographic locations. Work independently with a high degree of accountability while adapting to different program needs, schedules, cultures, and implementation environments. Requirements: Hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, or a Master’s degree plus at least two years of experience as an MST-CAN Supervisor, MST-BSF Supervisor, MST Expert, or comparable treatment-model expert. Bring a strong clinical foundation in family therapy, behavioral therapy, child development, crisis management, and safety planning. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to develop or apply expertise in trauma-focused treatment, Prolonged Exposure, contingency management, and reinforcement-based behavioral therapy. Have experience teaching, training, presenting, coaching, or providing consultation to clinical or professional audiences. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities and the confidence to build relationships across different levels of an organization. Be able to work independently, manage responsibilities with integrity, and maintain a high level of accountability in a remote and travel-intensive role. Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Be willing and able to travel approximately 35–50%, including domestic and potentially international travel, such as to Europe or Australia. Be comfortable working occasional non-traditional hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate program requirements and different time zones. Be willing to complete applicable background screening, including checks appropriate for work with children and families. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable requirements relating to client privacy, mandated reporting, data security, and healthcare information where applicable.
