Job Description
We are the creators of Flipper Zero — a portable device for tech enthusiasts and engineers. We are currently developing a new product - Flipper One. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our consumer electronics development team, who will be involved in all stages of product development—from concept to mass production.
Requirements
Portfolio
Experience in Developing Consumer Electronics
General understanding of electronic device operation
Understanding of key physical processes in electronic devices such as heating, thermal expansion, shielding, and radio signal transmission
Experience in Manufacturing
Hands-on experience working with manufacturing partners during product development
Understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints in mass production
Engineering Skills
Knowledge of top-down and bottom-up design approaches
Layout of structural components
Development of adaptive parametric models
Creation of mechanical assemblies
Performing analyses (interference checks, wall thickness, draft angles)
Calculation and application of tolerances and fits
Preparation of test procedures
Mass Production Technologies
Plastic injection molding (including two-component injection molding)
Metal processing (machining, bending, stamping)
Plastic welding
Sealing techniques for assemblies
Pressing
Prototyping Technologies
Additive rapid prototyping technologies
Subtractive rapid prototyping technologies
CAD Skills
Experience designing in any CAD system
Siemens NX experience preferred (primary design tool in the company)
PDM Skills
Experience working with PDM systems
Siemens Teamcenter experience preferred (PDM used in the company)
Documentation & Specification
Maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOM)
Development of design documentation (drawings, auxiliary specifications)
Nice-to-haves
Experience in performing structural and thermal analysis
Proficiency with Siemens NX and Siemens Teamcenter
Experience in developing adaptive parametric models
Experience in preparing test procedures and methodologies
Responsibilities
Laying out and integrating structural components
Designing enclosures and mechanical parts
Building mechanical assemblies
Analyzing parts and assemblies for manufacturability
Maintaining up-to-date design and engineering documentation
