ROLE OVERVIEW

As an M&A Analyst, you will work closely with senior members of the M&A and Corporate Development teams to support the full acquisition lifecycle — from market research and deal sourcing to financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction execution.

In addition to analytical work, this role plays an important part in identifying new acquisition opportunities, engaging with founders and industry stakeholders, and helping build a strong pipeline of potential targets within the vertical software ecosystem.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, commercial curiosity, relationship-building skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

MARKET RESEARCH & DEAL SOURCING

  • Conduct market mapping and research to identify vertical market software companies and potential acquisition opportunities
  • Build and continuously update target lists using public and proprietary sources
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and acquisition developments across relevant software markets
  • Support proactive outreach initiatives to engage founders, advisors, and industry stakeholders
  • Identify and qualify new acquisition opportunities aligned with the company’s investment strategy
  • Help maintain a consistent pipeline of potential acquisition targets

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and scenario analyses
  • Support proactive deal sourcing efforts through industry research, market mapping, and direct engagement with potential sellers and intermediaries
  • Prepare investment memos, management presentations, and supporting materials for leadership review
  • Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on potential acquisitions
  • Analyze historical financial statements, forecast assumptions, KPIs, and customer metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, operations, technology, and legal throughout the diligence process
  • Track portfolio and pipeline metrics, manage data rooms, and monitor transaction timelines
  • Perform market and competitor analysis to identify strategic opportunities and support acquisition prioritization
  • Maintain CRM data and internal acquisition tracking tools to support pipeline management
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements, documentation, and best practices within the M&A function
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders, advisors, and industry participants to support long-term acquisition sourcing

REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, M&A, Private Equity, Consulting, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a strong plus
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Intellectual curiosity about vertical market software businesses and long-term investing
  • Strong commercial mindset and interest in understanding how software businesses operate and grow

ADDITIONAL / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience with financial modeling, including DCF, comparables, and sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and software-focused due diligence processes
  • Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities
  • Interest in long-term career development within M&A, corporate development, or strategic finance
