Job Description

About the Role

Engine is building a Growth Engineering function from the ground up, and we’re looking for a Lead GTM Engineer to own and shape it. This is a high-impact role focused on creating the systems, signals, and automations that help our go-to-market teams reach the right companies at the right time. Your work will directly influence how we scale outbound, improve efficiency, and drive net-new customer acquisition.

You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market, combining technical execution with creativity, ownership, and leadership.

Your Mission

  • Build and own systems that aggregate and transform signals used to power outbound and growth efforts
  • Design and ship automations and internal tools that improve how teams identify, prioritize, and engage accounts
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Data to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Lead the foundation of Growth Engineering at Engine, including hiring and mentoring engineers as the team grow
  • Experiment quickly, learn from results, and evolve successful ideas into durable platforms

What you’ll bring to Engine

  • Experience building and maintaining production software, ideally in growth, product, marketing, or sales-adjacent environments
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with Node.js is a plus
  • Experience working with or integrating GTM systems such as Salesforce, Outreach, and data or automation platforms
  • Comfort building internal tools, automations, and data-driven workflows
  • Prior people leadership experience, or clear readiness to step into a team-lead role
  • A builder mindset with a bias toward action, ownership, and measurable impact

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • Founding opportunity to shape a brand-new function
  • Direct, visible impact on how Engine grows
  • High ownership, autonomy, and room to define both the technical and team direction
  • A chance to work across engineering, product, and go-to-market in a fast-scaling environment
