This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced embedded software solutions for safety-critical aerospace applications. You will contribute to the design, integration, and verification of middleware, core libraries, and platform-level software. Working within a collaborative Agile engineering environment, you will help deliver high-quality systems that meet rigorous aerospace standards.   • Accountabilities: As a Lead Engineer – Software, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and validating embedded software solutions while ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges and support the full software lifecycle. Design and develop middleware, core software libraries, and platform-level software aligned with DO-178B/C standards. Analyze, define, and develop complete and verifiable high-level and low-level software requirements. Create software architecture, detailed designs, and embedded components using object-oriented and object-based development principles. Implement, integrate, debug, and verify embedded software primarily using C++. Develop and execute software test cases, verification procedures, and automated testing scripts. Support software verification, validation, certification activities, and lifecycle documentation. Participate in technical reviews, peer assessments, and software quality evaluations. Troubleshoot complex software design, integration, and performance issues. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate technical progress, risks, and recommendations with stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions on schedule. Requirements: The ideal candidate has strong embedded software development experience, a passion for engineering excellence, and the ability to work effectively in safety-critical environments. You should bring solid programming expertise, analytical skills, and experience with structured software development processes. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or a related STEM discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded software development within aerospace or other safety-critical industries. Strong programming skills in C/C++, with preference for C++ expertise. Experience designing and developing embedded software, middleware, software libraries, or platform-level components. Hands-on experience with DO-178B/C development processes and certification activities. Experience across software architecture, design, coding, integration, debugging, and verification. Ability to create software requirements, test cases, and verification documentation. Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within Agile and cross-functional engineering teams. Experience with VxWorks or other Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) is preferred. Knowledge of avionics software, Flight Management Systems (FMS), aircraft applications, or aerospace platforms is a plus. Understanding of DO-178B/C Design Assurance Level A (DAL A) is beneficial. Familiarity with Git, Subversion, JIRA, configuration management, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software engineering best practices is preferred.
