Job Description

Job Description

Atwell is seeking a Land Solutions Project Manager to support a leading electric transmission client across a portfolio of high-voltage infrastructure and right of way projects throughout the Upper Midwest.

While this role is remote, candidates based in or near Wisconsin are strongly preferred, given the regional nature of the work and the expectation of regular client-facing engagement and site travel.

You'll oversee land and ROW acquisition activities in support of electric transmission infrastructure — managing easement negotiations, rights of entry, surface agreements, damage settlements, and fee property transactions across active transmission corridors. You'll establish project scope, budgets, and schedules, manage contracts and sub-consultants, and ensure performance metrics are met throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to the client, staying ahead of their pipeline, following up on outstanding proposals, and proactively identifying opportunities to expand Atwell's support. Internally, you'll maintain project documentation in Vision, manage invoicing and collections, and deliver regular financial and progress reporting to leadership. Coaching and mentoring your project team is an important part of how you operate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Land Planning, Land Surveying, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of project management experience with a focus on electric transmission, utility infrastructure, or energy-related land and ROW work
  • Strong background in easement acquisition and land agreements specific to transmission or high-voltage infrastructure projects
  • Expertise negotiating ROW easements, surface leases, encroachment agreements, rights of entry, fee property, and damage settlements
  • Familiarity with FERC, state utility commission regulations, and property rights frameworks relevant to transmission development
  • Experience with Vision as a project management tool
  • AAPL or SR/WA certification is a plus

Who Thrives Here

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where long-term client relationships and complex land programs intersect. You're dependable, solutions-oriented, and bring a natural ease to client communication. You understand the stakes of transmission infrastructure work and approach your projects with the focus and accountability that kind of work demands. Regional travel is part of the role and you welcome it.
