Job Description

Job Title:  Healthcare Virtual Assistant

Job Code: [ML-HHHC]

Position type: Full-Time

Working Hours:  9:00 AM -6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Monday - Friday

Salary rate : $5-$7 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Professionally answer and manage inbound calls from patients, providers, hospitals, referral sources, and insurance companies.
  • Route calls accurately to appropriate departments or team members.
  • Monitor and process incoming faxes daily.
  • Review, organize, and route referrals and clinical documents to appropriate staff.
  • Submit and manage insurance prior authorization requests.
  • Follow up with insurance carriers regarding authorization status.
  • Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
  • Coordinate patient visits and home health appointment
  • Assist with billing processes and invoice management.
  • Conduct and process patient intake documentation.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, medical virtual assistance, home health, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Experience with patient intake, referrals, insurance verification, and prior authorizations.
  • Understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical documentation.
  • Clinical education or healthcare-related background strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing medical records and patient documentation.
  • Ability to understand healthcare terminology and clinical information

Basic requirements

  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
  • Must have relevant work experience
  • Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
  • Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)

Technical requirements

  • Device: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
  • Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
  • Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
  • Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.
  • Workspace: Quiet, professional environment.
