Job Description
We’re looking for a Game Animator to help define and elevate the feel of a mobile free-to-play football game built for a global audience. This role is focused on crafting responsive, high-performance motion that makes gameplay feel polished, satisfying, and intuitive.
You will design and systemize motion across UI transitions, reward sequences, celebrations, and moment-to-moment interactions. This is not just about creating beautiful animations. It is about making a game feel fast, premium, and rewarding while maintaining performance across mid and low-end mobile devices.
If you care deeply about interaction design, timing, and performance constraints and want to ship motion that millions of players experience daily, this role is a strong fit.
Why You’ll Want to Join
- You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th)
- Up to 14 days of Paid Time Off annually (starting Day 1)
- Observance of Holidays per company guidelines
- 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you’re most productive
- Work on a globally licensed football product with real players and competitive gameplay
- High ownership role shaping the visual and interaction language of the game
- Direct collaboration with product, engineering, art, and design
What You’ll Work On
Own the Motion Language
- Define timing, easing, anticipation, follow-through, and readability standards
- Establish a clear motion system that makes interactions feel deliberate and satisfying
- Ensure consistency across core flows and LiveOps updates
Core Gameplay and Reward Sequences
- Design motion for reward reveals, pack openings, card collections, streaks, multipliers, and celebrations
- Craft UI transitions including screen changes, modals, navigation states, tooltips, and lightweight delight moments
- Create feedback loops that reinforce player actions and progression
Unity Collaboration and Implementation
- Create clear motion specs for engineering implementation
- Ideally implement key flows directly in Unity using tools such as Timeline, Animator, or DOTween
- Help establish reusable prefabs and scalable motion systems
Performance-First Design
- Design motion that runs smoothly at 60fps on a wide range of mobile devices
- Work within mobile performance constraints including draw calls, overdraw, particle budgets, and memory limits
- Balance visual impact with clarity and usability
Systemization and Scalability
- Build a reusable motion library including transitions, curves, templates, and sequencing rules
- Ensure motion remains consistent and maintainable as new features and events are added
- Support LiveOps cadence with adaptable motion systems
AI-Accelerated Production
- Use AI tools to speed up concept exploration, variations, and visual testing
- Leverage generative workflows to iterate quickly without sacrificing quality
What You Bring
- 5+ years of motion design experience, ideally in mobile casual or free-to-play games
- A portfolio demonstrating shipped UI motion, reward systems, or game moment design
- Strong fundamentals in timing, composition, hierarchy, and small-screen readability
- Experience collaborating closely with engineers and product teams
- Comfort designing under product constraints such as retention, engagement, and session length goals
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience implementing motion in Unity
- Experience working within a LiveOps-driven product cycle
- Familiarity with Spine, VFX Graph, Shader Graph, or lightweight real-time VFX workflows
- Experience designing motion that supports user acquisition or marketing capture needs
How to Apply
Please include:
- Your updated resume
- A portfolio showcasing relevant shipped motion work
- A short 1–2 minute Loom video explaining your approach to mobile game motion and performance-conscious design
