Amazon Flex is at the forefront of delivery operations, owning a significant piece of Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery strategy both currently and into the future. The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill "Ultrafast" customer deliveries including Amazon Grocery, Whole Foods, same day Amazon.com orders and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Technology, Product, and Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning, pricing, routing and expansion opportunities which help improve safety, customer quality and reduce costs. With a rapidly expanding team and scope, we are looking for a Finance Manager who is a creative problem solver to support our growth while gaining excellent Operations Finance experience. This role will take end to end responsibility of Flex Finance in Japan, working closely with the Japan Flex business team and cross-functional business leaders across the Last Mile organization. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders in Flex Operations, Flex Tech, Amazon Logistics (AMZL), and Grocery teams. This role works with business operators, technical product managers, legal teams and software developers. This role designs and develops performance measurements and quantifies impact to the business based on strategic input drivers to grow and continuously improve the economics of the business. The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, deal with ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying the high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions. Basic Qualifications
  • - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience - 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
