This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with U.S. and international export control regulations within a high-stakes defense and aerospace environment. You will act as a key advisor to program leadership, supporting the proper classification, authorization, and management of controlled products and technologies. The position involves both strategic and operational responsibilities, including the development and maintenance of export licenses, compliance program deployment, and support for regulatory interpretation under ITAR and EAR frameworks. You will also contribute to investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement of export compliance processes across defense programs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure that business operations remain compliant while supporting mission-critical product delivery. This is a highly impactful role suited for professionals experienced in export compliance within regulated, technical industries.
- Accountabilities: Serve as a key export compliance advisor to defense program leadership, ensuring adherence to ITAR and EAR requirements. Draft, submit, and manage export licenses and authorizations required for civil and military programs. Provide day-to-day guidance on export control regulations, including contract reviews and resolution of export-related issues. Support the implementation and localization of enterprise export compliance programs across assigned business areas. Conduct compliance assurance activities, training, and procedural enhancements to strengthen regulatory adherence. Participate in investigations and lead corrective action processes related to export compliance matters. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for export control policies, tools, and governance frameworks. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years, or JD/PhD in a related field. Background in export control, compliance, legal, logistics, military, procurement, or related technical/business domains. Strong knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations and demonstrated experience applying them in operational settings. Experience drafting and managing export licenses and compliance documentation. Prior involvement in compliance program implementation or governance frameworks is highly desirable. Familiarity with international export control regimes (EU, UK, or others) is a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate in highly regulated, security-sensitive environments; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
