This role is a leadership position at the intersection of engineering execution, team development, and large-scale material handling system delivery. You will be responsible for guiding and growing an electrical engineering team while ensuring the successful design and implementation of complex controls systems for automated distribution environments. The position combines people management, technical oversight, and project execution across multiple concurrent initiatives. You will define standards, improve engineering processes, and ensure high-quality deliverables across electrical design and documentation. In addition to driving project success, you will play a key role in mentoring engineers, building capability, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. - Accountabilities: Lead, mentor, and develop an electrical engineering team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth. Oversee multiple concurrent engineering projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality standards, and resource availability. Define and improve engineering processes, standards, and documentation practices including Drawing Quality Control (DQC). Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and team capacity across active projects. Guide the design and documentation of electrical controls systems for material handling and automation solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical specifications, project requirements, and execution plans. Lead technical reviews, including controls layout sessions and design validation with internal teams and clients. Support development of operational documentation such as functional specifications and descriptions of operation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of best practices across electrical engineering workflows. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). 7–10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Strong background in controls systems and material handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, sensors, VFDs, scanners). Experience with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or Promis-e. Proven ability to manage engineering teams, projects, and cross-functional technical initiatives. Strong understanding of supplier coordination and multi-vendor environments. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Office suite. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Strong leadership mindset with ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
