Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and validation of operational equipment and drivable-concept systems used to operate autonomous vehicles in non-autonomous modes. This role bridges electrical hardware, low-voltage systems, and vehicle integration supporting everything from external control devices to in-vehicle driver-interface components.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, understands how LV electrical systems behave in real vehicles, and can take electrical hardware from concept to implementation.
What You’ll Do
- Design, integrate, and validate electrical operational equipment (e.g., remote controllers, safety switches, auxiliary control interfaces)
- Support “drivable concept” integration, adding EE components such as instrument clusters, accelerator/brake signal interfaces, and other driver-assist electrical elements
- Create and review low-voltage schematics for added subsystems and ensure proper interfacing with vehicle networks and power distribution
- Debug, prototype, and resolve electrical issues during bench and in-vehicle testing 5
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, wiring, and integration teams to ensure safe, reliable implementation
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 3–5+ years experience in automotive, robotics, or embedded systems
- Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical design, component selection, and schematic interpretation
- Ability to integrate EE devices into complex vehicle systems and troubleshoot real-world electrical issues
- Comfortable building prototypes, working hands-on, and supporting fast-paced engineering development
- Effective communicator who works well across hardware, controls, and integration functions
Bonus / Nice to Have
- Experience with wiring/harness design tools (Capital, CATIA/3DX)
- Familiarity with automotive networks (CAN, LIN) and driver-interface hardware
- Experience developing or supporting special equipment, test fixtures, or custom electrical assemblies
Salary Range: $110,000-$120,000/K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
