Job Description

ABOUT NEW ENERGY NEXUS

New Energy Nexus (NEX) is an international NGO that supports climate solutions and builds a more equitable clean energy economy. Our laser focus is on clean energy entrepreneurs: providing them with funds, accelerators, and networks to thrive. They are our main audience and our agent of change.

We started in California in 2004 and now operate across China, India, Southeast Asia, East and West Africa, and Australia. We have leveraged US$5.4 billion in investment and supported more than 11,000 entrepreneurs.

ABOUT THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY

The Development team leads NEX’s fundraising efforts across the organization, bringing together global and local fundraising capabilities to strengthen relationships, grow funding, and support NEX’s programs and chapters. Because our fundraising work is distributed across countries and teams, strong systems, accurate data, and consistent processes are essential to making the most of our global network.

The Development Coordinator provides day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Development team, with a particular focus on maintaining accurate fundraising data and producing timely, useful reports. This role will manage routine data entry and upkeep in NEX’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system; follow up with staff to fill data gaps; and prepare monthly fundraising reports by extracting, organizing, checking, and presenting CRM data. The Development Coordinator will also support proposal and grant administration, donor communications, events, and other team needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented person who enjoys working with data and systems and is excited to build their skills in nonprofit fundraising and development.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Add contacts and relevant data from other fundraising and marketing tools, such as Donorbox.
  • Conduct routine data checks and clean-up to maintain data quality.
  • Respond to basic CRM questions and escalate more complex questions to the appropriate Abundance team or IT staff.

Reporting & Spreadsheets

  • Produce NEX’s monthly fundraising report by reviewing CRM data, identifying data gaps, coordinating with staff to address them, and exporting and organizing information into a clear, polished report.
  • Maintain recurring fundraising tracking spreadsheets and dashboards.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and data exports as requested by the Development team.
  • Check data for accuracy and consistency before reports are shared.
  • Help improve the organization and presentation of recurring reports and spreadsheets.

Fundraising & Grant Administration

  • Maintain organized electronic records for proposals, grants, and other fundraising materials.
  • Help track proposals and grant reporting deadlines and follow up with staff as needed.
  • Support the preparation and submission of proposals, reports, and other funder materials using NEX’s standard information and templates.
  • Assist with gathering and organizing information needed for funder and impact reports.
  • Help maintain standard fundraising materials, templates, and shared files.

  • Provide administrative support to the Development team, including scheduling, document preparation, data entry, and other coordination tasks.
  • Support donor communications, including quarterly funder newsletters and other emails sent through Mailchimp.
  • Assist with logistics for donor meetings, virtual funder calls, donor dinners, funder panels, and other events.
  • Provide other administrative and coordination support to the Development team as needed.
