We are looking for a tech platform regulation regulatory attorney with 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with 3+ years in house, with experience responding to informal and formal regulatory inquiries, analyzing new laws and its impact to the business, and building and maintaining strong regulatory relationships. A successful candidate is passionate about Reddit’s mission “to empower communities and make their knowledge accessible to everyone” and is flexible, curious, and has a reputation for being highly collaborative.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and respond to regulatory requests from around the world about how Reddit’s products work.

  • Provide advice and counsel to ensure Reddit meets its legal obligations and legal requirements under US, EU, and other applicable legal frameworks.
  • Be a lead legal subject matter expert on areas of online platform regulation, ensuring consistency in counseling across the legal team, in line with Reddit’s user-centric approach.
  • Serve as a strategic, proactive, and pragmatic legal partner to help product and business teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory risks and requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are locally licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions.
  • 5+ years of legal experience at a top law firm and/or in house, with ideally 3+ years of in-house product counseling and/or regulatory experience.
  • Strong background advising on global platform compliance laws, like in data protection, content regulation, and child safety.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on regulatory readiness in a fast paced, product-forward environment.
  • Strong legal drafting and writing skills and a penchant for concise, plain English writing.
  • Experience responding to and partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe.
