This freelance opportunity is designed for a skilled chatbot developer who enjoys building practical conversational solutions for real-world applications. You will create, integrate, and optimize messaging bots across leading communication platforms, helping deliver seamless user experiences. The role combines backend development, API integrations, conversational design, and AI-powered automation. You will work on innovative technology projects that leverage modern tools such as LLMs, webhooks, and cloud-based services. • Accountabilities: As a Chatbot Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable conversational bots and messaging integrations. You will collaborate on technology projects where user experience, automation, and system performance are key priorities. Build and deploy chatbots for messaging platforms including WhatsApp Business API, Telegram Bot API, Discord, Slack, and similar platforms. Design conversational workflows, dialogue states, fallback strategies, and user interaction logic. Integrate chatbot solutions with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar technologies to enable natural language interactions. Connect bots with backend services, databases, CRMs, payment systems, booking platforms, and third-party APIs. Manage webhooks, authentication flows, API limitations, message formats, templates, and platform-specific requirements. Debug, optimize, and improve chatbot implementations to ensure reliability, maintainability, and strong user experiences. Implement monitoring, logging, and recovery processes to maintain production stability. Review existing solutions, identify improvement opportunities, and apply best practices in chatbot engineering. Requirements: The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience combined with expertise in chatbot creation, integrations, and conversational technologies. You should be comfortable working independently, managing technical challenges, and delivering production-ready solutions. Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development, automation, integration development, or chatbot engineering. At least 1 year of hands-on experience building bots for major messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, or similar. Strong programming skills in Python or Node.js for backend bot logic and automation. Solid experience with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, asynchronous requests, and third-party integrations. Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases for conversation management and user data storage. Familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt design for conversational applications is highly valued. Understanding of messaging platform requirements, approval processes, templates, and technical limitations. Experience deploying applications using technologies such as Docker, serverless platforms, VPS, or PaaS solutions. Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to independently design, develop, and deliver complete chatbot solutions. Portfolio or examples of previously built bots is required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is an asset.
