- Global MHE procurement components team secures the supplier technology, solutions, and capacity required to deliver the highly automated FC technology road-map. Our team also directs the global MHE components acquisition and supplier development for One-MHS, customer fulfillment (GCF), specialty fulfillment (GSF), and transportation (ATS) operations. These solutions require continuous engineering development, emerging and disruptive technology innovations and long-term supplier partnerships. We are filling a key role on our global components sourcing team, which will be exclusively supporting the Megatron program and driving Direct-Sourcing in an effort to pull-in 2027/2028 programs to build up peak capacity in our First-Mile network. Key job responsibilities • Engage with the Megatron team as the Single-Threaded Lead from the Components team to provide the solutions by Direct-Sourcing from OEMs, achieving shorter leadtimes, lower cost, and increased flexibility and capacity compared to traditional turnkey MHE solutions provided by MHE Integrators. • Lead cross-functional sourcing events, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts to optimize Amazon’s competitive position for the procured equipment necessary to deliver the goals of Megatron • Develop and implement category sourcing strategies for equipment & components that form the overall MHE system or sub-systems • Develop and manage strong strategic relationships with our key suppliers and business partners to reduce cost, compress project lifecycles, advance solution quality and improve capital efficiencies. • Facilitate suppliers’ understanding of Amazon global policies, equipment design standards, budget and cost targets, and service and quality expectations • Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and development program in support of quality, delivery and cost performance metrics. • Support common global supplier selection processes, global supplier development processes, and continued managed expansion of the global supplier base. • Manage common global supplier metrics and data reporting to support the achievement of continuous cost improvement targets. • Lead special projects on a worldwide basis to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, improve performance of strategic suppliers, and improve project implementation results.
Basic Qualifications
- - 3+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and category management in indirect categories such as professional services, support or maintenance spend, supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience - 3+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience - Bachelor's degree - Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
