The Analyst Profit and Loss will support financial performance management by analyzing results, preparing reports, and providing insights that help guide business decisions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to review financial information, identify trends, and recommend improvements that support operational efficiency. You will contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. - Accountabilities: The Analyst Profit and Loss will be responsible for analyzing financial performance, supporting reporting activities, and providing recommendations that enable effective business decisions. The role requires strong attention to detail, collaboration with stakeholders, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights. Consolidate, analyze, and report financial performance information to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and data packages for assigned business areas or legal entities. Analyze financial results and provide insights, recommendations, and explanations regarding business performance. Support the preparation of journal entries, financial statements, reporting packages, reconciliations, and related accounting activities. Review financial information prepared by internal teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Assist with internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, analysis, and required support. Identify financial issues, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions to improve processes and reporting quality. Support strategic initiatives by tracking performance metrics, milestones, and operational outcomes. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to support business objectives. Apply risk management principles and follow established financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a finance professional with experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting who can work independently while collaborating effectively with business partners. Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. 1–3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, or a related field. Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completed or near completion of an accounting designation is preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting processes, and business performance analysis. Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and analytical summaries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and completeness. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Experience with Microsoft 365 tools; knowledge of Copilot is considered an asset. Strong influencing skills and the ability to support business decisions through financial insights.
