AI Automation Developer

About the Role 

This role is for a hands-on AI developer who enjoys experimenting, building quickly, and turning ideas into working solutions. You’ll work closely with service design and operations teams to test and validate AI-driven automations that improve day-to-day operational performance. The focus is on speed and learning—building lightweight, practical solutions to prove value, before handing successful concepts over to core development teams for long-term implementation.

Reporting Line: Service Design & Operations Transformation Lead

Contract: Initially project-based, with strong potential to become permanent

Worksite: Remote

Responsibilities

• Build and test AI-driven automations to improve operational processes.
• Translate service design ideas into quick, working prototypes.
• Partner with operations teams to test solutions in real workflows and gather feedback.
• Deliver frequent, incremental improvements, with a target of at least one validated improvement per week.
• Assess effectiveness, limitations, and scalability of solutions.
• Document learnings and support handover of successful concepts to development teams.
• Actively contribute ideas and challenge assumptions in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Understanding of machine learning techniques and frameworks.
• Practical experience building AI or automation solutions (e.g. scripts, bots, workflow automations, AI-assisted tools).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with imperfect or evolving requirements.
• Comfortable working fast, testing ideas, and iterating based on feedback.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with non-technical colleagues.
• Clear communication skills and ability to explain solutions in simple terms.
